I was so thrilled the day my older granddaughter went with her mom and some friends to the 2017 Women’s March on Washington.
The crowds were so huge that… at one point, the marching throngs came to a complete stop. Kenz was boosted onto a nearby bicycle to see what was happening. “There were so many people, as far as I could see, Grammy. They didn’t stop,” she told me.
We are the people!
Which is to say that there are many ways we can model and support being “the people” in this moment. Our littles need us to do that.
And, whether we have girls or boys, to speak out about speaking out. About saying and respecting “No!” About asking for help and defending ourselves.
Not more they can handle. Not everything, all at once. But the real stuff. The hard stuff.
So they can be ready. And not stop!
