Honey in Your Heart 13 Step IC Painting Workshop
A couple of nights after my second Intentional Creativity workshop, the Muse named Anemone got busy again. I woke from a dream full of dancing red numbers, realizing that, with some additions to my outline for Honey in Your Heart, and some added painting technique, I had a 13 Step Workshop. Huge sigh of relief, not simply because it made life easier but because I wanted to go deeper with this theme and see what else might be possible.
I designed my process to fit in a one-day time frame. As there is no face or human form, it worked well.
Outline
• Red Thread circle with brief sharing of the legend that we are connected even before we are born.
• Beginning: Invocation. Visioning & Journaling, guided with a reading from Storycatcher… and the writing prompt, Who put the honey in your heart? Tell us that story, including images, feelings, stories you noticed. Then claim your intention for this journey and write it on your canvas. Bless canvas with rose water and open portal with big, drippy blue and white strokes.
• Heart demo in half circles and pinky-purple sketching.
• Fill in – leave glow.
• Rose demo. Include symbolism of roses and spirals.
• Bee and honeycomb demo. Include symbolism of bees and honey.
• Shadows
• Highlights
• Big scary glaze (QNAC)
• Lights, brights, accents.
• Intro to praying in dots. Honoring journey with prayers for honey coming into our hearts and prayers for honey spreading from our hearts to individuals, situations, the world…
• Illuminating and recognizing love. (gold and silver paint.. more dots) and Selective glazing, as desired.
• Journaling… What will you do in the future with the honey in your heart? Anointing painting with candle wax and/or honey.
• Sharing.
• Closing reading of Queen of Her Own Heart, Tea with the Midnight Muse.
First, I learned a lot from staring at my demo painting from the IC 2 workshop and feel that the changes I made in my plan for this workshop were helpful to the process. (And I liked my painting a lot better than the first one!)
I learned that, in some ways, a workshop with 2 beloveds is harder than one with 6, especially when the 2 are long-time friends and I only knew one of them!
And I learned that some participants are very anxious about not knowing what the destination is and I need to do a more intentional job of setting the stage without giving away the mystery.
Mostly I learned that, while I can feel the 13 steps, it might take more time before I’ve assimilated them. The outline was hugely helpful, though I suspect I got the numbers wrong!
